QUIBOLOY RUSHED TO HOSPITAL, DIAGNOSED WITH PNEUMONIA — BJMP

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) confirmed that televangelist Apollo Quiboloy, founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), was rushed to the hospital on September 11 after experiencing difficulty in breathing.

“BJMP confirms that PDL Apollo C. Quiboloy was rushed to a public hospital on 11 September 2025 due to difficulty in breathing,” BJMP Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera said in a statement to GMA News.

Quiboloy was later diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (moderate risk), according to the BJMP.

Bustinera said the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 159 had been informed of the televangelist’s condition.

“As of 30 September 2025, he is stable and recovering in a public hospital, in line with BJMP policies on medical care for persons deprived of liberty,” Bustinera added.

Quiboloy, a former spiritual adviser of ex-president Rodrigo Duterte, is facing multiple cases, including human trafficking and sexual abuse. Duterte, meanwhile, remains detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facility in Scheveningen, The Hague, over cases related to his bloody war on drugs.

In the 2025 elections, Quiboloy ran for senator as an independent candidate under the PDP-Laban’s “Team DuterTEN” but failed to make it to the winning circle.
