RAINY MONDAY SEEN ACROSS MOST AREAS

Most areas of the Philippines will see rains on Monday due to two prevailing weather systems, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

The shear line is expected to bring scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in Caraga, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, Camiguin, and Misamis Oriental. PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains in these areas could trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or “amihan” will cause light rains across Cagayan Valley, the rest of Visayas, the rest of the Bicol Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will also experience isolated light rains.

PAGASA added that the rest of Mindanao will have localized thunderstorms bringing isolated rain showers. Strong winds and rough seas are forecast in the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, posing risks to sea travel.

The agency reminded the public to stay alert for possible flooding and landslides in affected regions.
