REMULLA OPEN TO 2028 PRESIDENTIAL RUN

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla confirmed he is open to the possibility of running for president in the 2028 elections as the potential standard bearer of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s administration.

In an interview with The Philippine Star, Remulla said he is prepared should Marcos ask him to represent the administration in the next presidential race.

“I’m open,” Remulla said. “Governor Bongbong Marcos said in 1998. When he was asked if he wants to be President, ‘All governors wants to become president, and if they deny it, they’re lying.’”

Before his appointment as Interior Secretary, Remulla served as governor of Cavite from 2010 to 2016 and again from 2019 to 2025.

Remulla emphasized that he is not in a rush and is willing to return to local politics in Cavite if he does not secure Marcos’ endorsement.

As of now, Vice President Sara Duterte is the only major political figure who has formally declared her intention to run for president in 2028.
