REP. MARCY TEODORO FILES PERJURY CASE VS PNP OFFICERS

Marikina City 1st District Representative Marcy Teodoro on Monday filed a perjury complaint against two female members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) who earlier accused him of acts of lasciviousness and sexual assault.

Teodoro said the charges lodged against him before the Department of Justice (DOJ) last month were baseless and politically motivated, vowing to fight back through due process.

“Matatag ang loob kong makakamit ko ang hustisya at mababasura ang mga imbentong reklamong ito. Pero kailangan managot ang mga nagsisinungaling,” Teodoro said during the filing at the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.

He added: “The justice system should never be used as a weapon by those with malicious intent to destroy the innocent. Tigilan na ang maduming politika. It’s heartbreaking that we’ve come to a point where ambition prevails over truth and decency, where some people no longer fear God, only losing power.”

Teodoro’s lawyer, Atty. Alma Mallonga, said the allegations were “clearly fabricated,” stressing that the complainants admitted there was no force, intimidation, or threat during the supposed incidents.

“They were not threatened. They were not harmed. Cong. Marcy had no weapons. But the complainants always carried a service gun… The claim of rape is baffling and incredible under these circumstances,” Mallonga said. “False claims of rape harm everyone, especially women who are true victims of the crime.”

She added that witnesses have testified that Teodoro was never alone with the complainants, leaving no opportunity for such acts to occur.

Under Republic Act 11594, perjury carries a prison term of six to 12 years, alongside fines up to ₱1 million and perpetual disqualification from public office for government employees found guilty.

Mallonga also noted that the complainants continued reporting for work after the alleged incidents: “They continued to report for work, happily interacting with their co-workers, even on the very same days they claim to have been abused,” she said.

The Marikina City Police Office earlier confirmed that the two PNP officers have been reassigned to Camp Crame for their safety.
