Caloocan City 2nd District Representative Egay Erice on Friday said Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste presented him and ACT Teachers Party-list Representative Antonio Tinio with alleged text exchanges involving President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and former undersecretary Adrian Bersamin, linked to supposed kickbacks in flood control projects.
“Yes, Leandro showed us the text messages between PBBM and Adrian Bersamin,” Erice said. “Yes. He showed us all the exchanges between PBBM and Adrian, with their cellphone numbers.”
Erice said Leviste claimed Bersamin visited his Batangas residence out of fear of becoming a fall guy in the controversy.
“Sa bahay nya raw gumawa ng affidavit si Adrian sa Batangas kasi natakot daw si Adrian na maging fall guy, kaya naghanda ng affidavit, just in case may masamang mangyari sa kanya,” he recounted.
Leviste also allegedly showed CCTV footage of Bersamin arriving at his Taal, Batangas home with lawyers. Erice added that the purported exchanges were stored on a USB drive.
“It’s in a USB. There are a lot more that Lean did not show us. It seems that Adrian have a strong relationships with people in Taal Batangas. In fact, the former Chief of Staff of ES (Executive Secretary Lucas) Bersamin is now the mayor of Taal and a political ally of Leandro.”
Adrian Bersamin is the grandson of former Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
The allegations remain unverified, and no official response has been issued by any of the parties involved.
