ROBREDO EXPRESSES SUPPORT FOR ANTI-CORRUPTION RALLIES

Naga City Mayor and former Vice President Leni Robredo expressed solidarity with upcoming anti-corruption rallies, saying she intends to join—but only from the sidelines.

“Pupunta ako pero sa tabi-tabi lang. Feeling ko kasi ‘pag mga ganito, private. Dapat private sector. Dapat hindi pumapapel ang mga taga-gobyerno,” Robredo said in an interview.

She added that her presence is meant to show that Naga City supports efforts against corruption.

“Pero gusto ko ipakita na suportado ng mga taga-Naga City ang ganitong aksyon. Pero dapat siguraduhin natin ang safety ng mga participant.”

Robredo clarified that she will not attend the major rallies set in Metro Manila—including the “Trillion Peso March” and “Baha Sa Luneta 2.0” scheduled for November 30. The events she will participate in will take place in Naga City, where she currently serves as mayor.

“Ang sinabi ko po na very supportive ako sa 2nd Trillion Peso March na gagawin dito sa Naga. Gaya ng dati, sasama ako, but will just be in the sidelines, and ang City Government handang tumulong sa pag-secure ng event at kung ano pa ang kailangan,” she said.

Former OVP spokesperson Barry Gutierrez earlier reiterated this clarification, stating: “Just to clarify: Mayor Leni is going to the Nov 29 rally in Naga City. Not the Nov 30 rally.”
