Kamanggagawa Partylist Representative Eli San Fernando clarified on Monday, January 5, that Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste has not yet given him a copy of the controversial flood control budget insertions.
“Inaantay ko nga rin hanggang ngayon na may dumating sakin na kopya eh. Kasi kung meron na, isshare ko agad sa public,” San Fernando said, adding in jest, “Binibiro ko nga si Cong. Leandro na baka ako naman ang targetin dahil sa sinabi n’ya!”
Leviste earlier claimed during a gathering with San Fernando and Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga that both lawmakers already had copies of the list.
“Mapayapang Bagong Taon sa inyong lahat! May kopya na rin pala ng listahan ng flood control project insertions sina Congressman Kiko Barzaga at Eli San Fernando – Kamanggagawa Partylist,” Leviste wrote in a caption.
San Fernando, however, maintained that the public deserves transparency.
“Kung ano man ang list o file na meron patungkol sa allocations, insertions lalo na sa DPWH projects, karapatan ng lahat na makita at malaman kung ano ang laman niyan,” he said.
As of now, Leviste has not issued a new statement confirming whether he has provided the copy to his fellow lawmakers.
