Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative and House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos has dismissed speculation of a coup against Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III, saying there is no indication of unrest within the chamber.
“I don’t know of any coup in Congress at any point in time,” Marcos said in an interview on Wednesday.
“As far as I’m concerned, everyone is confident and happy with the leadership of Speaker Bojie,” he added.
Marcos said Dy has been providing steady and purposeful leadership as the House prioritizes internal reforms and works to strengthen its institutional credibility.
“He has been steering the House through his own quiet brand of leadership, which is what I think the House needs now, and instituting the reforms that the House requires to show to the Filipino people,” the Majority Leader noted.
Both Marcos and Dy are members of the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the political party led by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
