SENATE BLUE RIBBON COMMITTEE SUBPOENAS ABSENT CONTRACTORS IN FLOOD CONTROL PROBE

The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee has issued subpoenas to several contractors who failed to show up at its hearing on alleged anomalous and substandard flood control projects funded by the government.

Out of the 15 contractors summoned, only 7 appeared—represented either by company executives, owners, or legal counsel. The glaring absences prompted the committee to swiftly approve the issuance of subpoenas to compel the missing contractors to attend the next session.

Those subpoenaed include:

  • Cezarah Dizcaya (President), Alpha and Omega Gen. Contractor & Development Corporation
  • Ma. Roma Angeline Romando (Owner/Manager), St. Timothy Construction Corporation
  • Eumir Villanueva (President), Topnotch Catalyst Builders Inc.
  • Aderma Angelie Alcazar (President/CEO), Sunwest Inc.
  • Edgar Acosta (President), Hl-Tone Construction & Development Corporation
  • Romeo Miranda (President/AMO), Royal Crown Monarch Construction & Supplies Corp.
  • Mark Allan Arevalo (General Manager), Wawao Builders
  • Luisito Tiqui (President), L.R. Tiqui Builders, Inc.

The committee expects full compliance in the next hearing, as senators intensify their investigation into alleged corruption and irregularities in the awarding and execution of flood control projects.
