
The Senate has recorded a drop in both trust and performance ratings under the leadership of Senate President Chiz Escudero, according to the latest OCTA Research survey.
Conducted from July 12 to 17, the survey shows that public trust in the Senate now stands at 49%, down by 8 percentage points from 57% in November 2024. Performance ratings also slipped to 47%, a 6-point decline from the previous 53%.
In contrast, the House of Representatives saw an improvement in public perception under Speaker Martin Romualdez, a cousin of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Trust in the House rose to 57%, an 8-point increase from 49% last November. Its performance rating also climbed to 55%, up from 47%.
The survey was conducted face-to-face among 1,200 respondents, with a ±3.0% margin of error and a 95% confidence level.
