Senator Kiko Pangilinan has formally filed a bill aimed at cracking down on ticket scalping — the practice of reselling event tickets at inflated prices.
Under Pangilinan’s proposed legislation, the resale of tickets with more than a 10% markup from the original face value will be prohibited, especially when done without prior notice or approval from the event’s organizers or producers.

The bill also seeks to ban the sale of tickets without printed prices and those sold through unauthorized platforms or venues.
According to the proposal, the public can report violations to agencies such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and other law enforcement bodies.
Ticketing agencies will also be required to display warnings against ticket scalping to help deter the illegal practice.
If passed into law, the bill is expected to protect consumers from unfair ticket prices and restore order in the event ticketing system.
