House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ commitment to supporting Filipino workers and advancing labor reforms during the 50th anniversary of the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) on Friday.
“Gusto ko pong sabihin ito nang malinaw: The House of Representatives is your partner.
Dy highlighted TUCP’s role in shaping labor legislation and cited measures advanced at the committee level, including stronger protections against workplace discrimination, barangay-level workers’ registries, and modernization of the National Registry of Workers.
He also noted initiatives to extend protections and incentives to freelancers and online workers, promote a more equitable minimum wage system, ratify ILO Convention 188 for fisherfolk, and institutionalize the TUPAD program of the Department of Labor and Employment.
We move because workers deserve more,” Dy said.
“The House of Representatives is and will always be a partner of the working class.
