Navotas City Lone District Representative Toby Tiangco has renewed his call for the House of Representatives to publicly disclose the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) projects allocated to each congressional district, including those endorsed by party-list lawmakers, following the approval of the agency’s 2026 budget.
Tiangco raised the appeal after the Bicameral Conference Committee approved a ₱529.6 billion allocation for the DPWH, stressing that transparency in the budget process remains long overdue.
“Dapat magkaalaman na. Ang tagal na nating hinihingi na i-publish sa website ng Kongreso ang budget per congressional district, kasama na ang mga proyektong inendorso ng party-list. Simpleng transparency lang ito. Pera ng taumbayan ang pinag-uusapan, kaya dapat malinaw kung sino ang naglalagay ng ano,” Tiangco said.
He noted that issues raised during bicameral deliberations further highlighted the need to make public the final list of infrastructure projects and their proponents.
“Nakita naman natin sa bicam na may mga issue pagdating sa budget ng DPWH, kaya dapat ilatahala ang naging resulta ng bicam. Publishing the list of projects and their proponents will help the public know who is adding what and why. It will also help the executive evaluate which projects are acceptable and which should be vetoed,” he added.
Tiangco said publishing the budget breakdown on the House website would serve as a basic safeguard against corruption and strengthen accountability in the use of public funds.
“Mainit ang usapin ng korapsyon ngayon. Kung malinis ang intensyon natin, wala dapat ikatakot. I-post natin lahat habang may panahon pang itama ang mga mali. Ito ang pinakamadaling paraan para patunayang walang bahid ng korapsyon ang 2026 budget,” he said.
The lawmaker added that he first requested the publication of the DPWH project list as early as October 13, but the proposal has yet to be acted upon.
