Navotas City Lone District Representative Toby Tiangco advised President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to stay focused on governance despite the impeachment complaints recently filed in the House of Representatives.
So ang unsolicited advice ko, it should not be a distraction for him. Iyan ang aking pananaw,” Tiangco said.
Three impeachment complaints were submitted this past week, with one formally lodged before the House secretary general. Tiangco stressed that the President should continue delivering services to Filipinos, especially amid economic challenges.
“He has the responsibility also na ituloy iyong mga serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan. So dapat mag-concentrate siya doon,” he added.
The lawmaker noted that impeachment proceedings affect not only the local economy but also overseas Filipino workers who support families back home.
Tiangco reiterated that while the House must act on impeachment cases as mandated by the 1987 Constitution, the President should not let the issue derail his focus on governance and public service.
