Navotas City Lone District Representative Toby Tiangco welcomed President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s announcement that former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co’s passport has been canceled.
“Sa wakas, natapos ang napakahabang paghihintay,” Tiangco said.
“Matagal na nating hinihingi ito dahil malinaw ang mga batayan. Kung may ‘passport to freedom’ dati, mukhang may one-way ticket to accountability na ngayon,” he added.
Tiangco emphasized that Philippine embassies should ensure Co is located and returned to the country to face the allegations against him.
“Patuloy tayong magbabantay para masiguro na haharap si Zaldy Co sa hustisya. Suportado natin ang mga hakbang para mapanagot ang lahat ng nang-abuso sa tiwala at pondo ng mamamayang Pilipino,” he said.
Co is linked to questionable budget insertions in the 2025 national budget and irregularities in flood control projects.
