TINO DEATH TOLL RISES TO 204 — NDRRMC

At least 204 people have been reported dead due to Typhoon Tino, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Saturday.

According to the agency’s 6 a.m. report, 141 fatalities were recorded in Cebu; one each in Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Bohol, and Leyte; two in Southern Leyte; three in Capiz; six in Agusan del Sur; 27 in Negros Occidental; and 20 in Negros Oriental.

The typhoon also left 156 people injured across Cebu, Leyte, Negros Occidental, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur, while 109 individuals remain missing.

Typhoon Tino made landfall on Tuesday, unleashing torrential rains and widespread flooding across parts of the Visayas and Mindanao. Cebu and Negros Occidental were among the hardest hit areas, suffering extensive damage and severe floods.

A total of 823,977 families—or about 2.9 million individuals—were affected by the storm, with 73,214 families (282,490 people) currently staying in evacuation centers.
