Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV warned Vice President Sara Duterte to brace herself for possible criminal charges that may soon be filed against her, now that she no longer has a “protector” in the Office of the Ombudsman.
In an interview on “On Point” on the Bilyonaryo News Channel (BNC) on Tuesday night, October 21, Trillanes expressed confidence that Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla will act on any complaint filed against Duterte or her political allies.
“I am very sure, with the new Ombudsman, meron at meron magpa-file ng mga kaso against Sara Duterte kasi wala na ‘yung protector nila eh. Uusad na ‘yung kaso. Things are different now,” said Trillanes.
According to the former senator, former President Rodrigo Duterte, along with his family and political allies, allegedly escaped criminal prosecution during the seven-year term of former Ombudsman Samuel Martires.
