TRILLION PESO MARCH OPEN TO GROUPS CALLING FOR VP SARA’S OUSTER

The Trillion Peso March Movement said it is open to welcoming protesters calling for Vice President Sara Duterte’s removal from office during its mass demonstration at the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City on Sunday, November 30.

In a radio interview on Friday, Akbayan Partylist President Rafaela David said the coalition will accept all groups who wish to join the protest—even those carrying the “VP Sara Resign” call.

“Tayo po, naniniwala po tayo na kailangang ding panagutin [si VP Sara],” she said. “In fact, nag-file nga po at nag-endorse ng impeachment tayo against kay Sara.”

“Dapat nga na-impeach naman na si Sara, dapat nga tuloy ‘yong [impeachment] trial,” David added.

She said they also respect individuals who are calling for the ouster of President Bongbong Marcos, but the coalition is currently focusing on the evidence they have against the Vice President.

“Alam po natin ang nirerespeto, may ilan pong ganoon ang panawagan… pero sa ngayon po ang mga kasama po natin sa koalisyon ay we will cross the bridge when we get there,” she noted.

David added that they would not hesitate to pursue a similar impeachment complaint against the President if evidence warrants it.

“Kung sakali man na the evidence points to that and makita natin, in the same manner, na nag-file tayo ng impeachment kay Sara Duterte. If the evidence points to another possible complaint na diretso rin sa impeachment para rin kay Marcos ay hindi po tayo mag-aatubili.”

She said it is also possible that the coalition may eventually support calls to remove President Marcos if strong evidence emerges, similar to their case against Duterte.

“‘Ganoon po ang pulso ng mamamayan, kasama po natin. ‘Yon po ‘yong pamantayan natin when we file the impeachment complaint against VP Sara at gayon din po ang pamantayan na gagamitin natin kay President Marcos if the evidence shows and our coalition is prepared to push the envelope as far as we can para panagutin din siya,” she said.

The Trillion Peso March protest is set to take place on Sunday, November 30, beginning with a march from the EDSA Shrine to the People Power Monument at 8:00 a.m. The program will run from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
