TROPICAL STORM CRISING INTENSIFIES AS IT HEADS TOWARD NORTHERN LUZON

Tropical Storm Crising has further intensified as it moves toward Northern Luzon, according to the latest weather bulletin released by PAGASA.

The storm now packs maximum sustained winds of 80 km/h near the center, with gusts reaching up to 65 km/h. As of the latest report, the storm’s center was located 325 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, and is moving northwestward at a speed of 20 km/h.

PAGASA has raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #2 over the following areas:

  • Batanes
  • Cagayan, including Babuyan Islands
  • northern and eastern portions of Isabela
  • Apayao
  • Ilocos Norte
  • northern portions of Kalinga, Abra, and Ilocos Sur

Meanwhile, Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal #1 is now in effect over:

  • The remaining parts of Isabela, Kalinga, Abra, and Ilocos Sur
  • Quirino
  • Nueva Vizcaya
  • Mountain Province
  • Ifugao
  • Benguet
  • La Union
  • northern portions of Aurora and Pangasinan
  • northeastern portions of Nueva Ecija and Quezon
  • Polillo Islands
  • Catanduanes
  • Camarines Norte

In addition, Crising is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), bringing increased rains to Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
