TWO NEW IMPEACHMENT COMPLAINTS FILED VS VP SARA

Two new impeachment complaints were filed against Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday, February 2, following the lapse of the one-year ban.

The Office of the Secretary General of the House of Representatives formally accepted the complaint filed by the Makabayan bloc, the same group that lodged a second impeachment case against Duterte in 2025.

Their initial complaint cited betrayal of public trust over the alleged misuse of confidential funds in the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education.

On the same day, another impeachment complaint was filed by Tindig Pilipinas co-convenor Kiko Aquino Dee and Fr. Flavie Villanueva.

Their filing accused Duterte of “culpable violations of the Constitution, graft and corruption, bribery, betrayal of public trust, and other high crimes.”

The new cases add to the growing legal challenges faced by the Vice President, setting the stage for further deliberations in the House.
