The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) confirmed that the death toll from Typhoon Tino has climbed to 85, with Cebu province experiencing the most severe devastation. At least 17 people were injured and 75 others remain missing as powerful floods swept through towns, submerging homes, overturning vehicles, and carrying away large shipping containers.
The OCD said efforts are underway to restore electricity in affected cooperatives in Cebu and to deliver relief goods to isolated areas. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continues to provide food and non-food assistance to displaced families, while local disaster teams work to clear debris and reopen blocked roads.
According to the NDRRMC, Typhoon Tino has impacted over 345,000 families across seven regions, with 53 cities and municipalities now under a State of Calamity, prompting sustained humanitarian operations across the Visayas and nearby provinces.
