VICE GANDA, OGIE ALCASID, SARAH GERONIMO TO JOIN MASS PROTESTS AGAINST CORRUPTION

It will not only be ordinary Filipinos who are expected to join the nationwide protests on Sunday, September 21, against corruption in government, particularly in the flood control projects. Some of the country’s biggest entertainment personalities have also confirmed they will take part.

Kapamilya comedian and It’s Showtime host Vice Ganda appeared to confirm his participation in the “Baha Sa Luneta” rally through a post on social media.

“Magkita-kita tayo sa Luneta sa Linggo. Oras na para wakasan ang kagarapalan ng mga hayop na magnanakaw sa gobyerno,” Vice declared on Instagram.

His fellow It’s Showtime host and ASAP mainstay, award-winning singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, also confirmed that he will be joining the “A Trillion Peso March” to be held at the EDSA People Power Monument in Quezon City.

“In fact, on Sunday, I will be there in EDSA with my sister maybe. Basta I will be there. Fifty-eight na ako. This is more than anything else. This is all about us na, eh,” Alcasid said.

He added, “Kaya yung nakikita ko na walang pink, walang (dilaw), totoo yun, e. Lahat na tayo ito. This has no political color.”

Meanwhile, pop superstar Sarah Geronimo also made a stand against corruption during her performance at the UAAP Season 88 opening ceremony on Friday, September 19.

“Parang panloloko sa bansa natin, pinaikot-ikot lang tayo. Tama na!” Geronimo declared before the crowd.

She also left a message to the youth: “One day, kayo ang magbabago ng bulok na sistema ng bansang ito.”

With the participation of Vice, Ogie, and Sarah, Sunday’s rallies are shaping up to be not just a political gathering but also a cultural moment, amplifying the people’s outrage against corruption.
