VILLAR CAMP SAYS VIRAL CONFRONTATION VIDEO WAS “EDITED”

Former Senator Cynthia Villar’s camp on Tuesday claimed that a viral video showing her confrontation with village security personnel was “edited,” insisting the incident stemmed from the installation of traffic bollards on what she maintains is her private property without prior notice or consultation.

The video, which circulated widely online, shows Villar angrily confronting traffic marshals during a dry run of a new traffic scheme in BF Resort Village, Las Piñas.

“The incident arose after a ‘No U-Turn’ sign and bollards were installed in front of the house of former Sen. Cynthia A. Villar without prior notice or consultation and upon the order of the illegal BF Resort Village Homeowners Association (HOA) officers,” Villar said.

She added that no official documents from what she described as the legitimate homeowners association were presented to justify the installation.

Villar also branded the current HOA leadership as “illegal,” citing rulings from the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, the Human Settlements Adjudication Commission, and the Court of Appeals.

She accused certain individuals of trespassing, deliberately provoking the incident, and circulating what she called “edited and malicious clips” online.

The dispute dates back to 2022, when residents and HOA president Euan Rex Toralballa raised concerns over bridge projects in Cavite that would connect to a subdivision owned by the Villar family.
