VP SARA: CALLS FOR PBBM’S RESIGNATION ‘POINTLESS’

If Vice President Sara Duterte were to be asked, the calls for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to step down are nothing but “pointless.”

“That is a pointless call,” Duterte said when asked about the growing public clamor for Marcos to resign.

According to the Vice President, she no longer sees the need to call for his resignation, asserting that it’s clear the President has no plans of leaving his post anytime soon.

“Hindi magre-resign ‘yan. Nakita n’yo ba ‘yung tatay? Ilang taon ‘yun? Ilang years ‘yung Senior? 20 years? … Tingnan niyo ang DNA niyan, ayaw iyan umalis ng puwesto,” she quipped, referring to former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., who ruled the country for over two decades following the declaration of Martial Law in 1972.

Instead, Duterte said her main concern is for Marcos to answer the allegations surrounding his signing of the 2025 national budget, which critics claim contains questionable budget insertions.

“Ang pagpirma niya sa kaduda-duda na budget, that is a culpable violation of the Constitution. ‘Yan ang sinasabi ko na sagutin niya, na hindi niya sinasagot. Ang ginagawa nila, naghahanap sila ng taong aatakihin nila para nakakalimutan ‘yung tanong,” the Vice President said.

Duterte emphasized that her statements are not about politics or personal grievances, but about accountability and the duty of public officials to face legitimate questions from the people.
