VP SARA DENIES ROLE IN CALL FOR MARCOS’ RESIGNATION, SLAMS ‘DESTABILIZATION’ CLAIMS

Vice President Sara Duterte denied allegations that she was behind Cavite 4th District Representative Kiko Barzaga’s call for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to step down from office.

“Di ko pakawala si Kiko. Isa siyang tao na mahirap kontrolin kahit sinuman. I do not control Kiko Barzaga. He is his own person, he has his own principles and own free will,” Duterte said, adding that the two first met only during the UniTeam rally in Cavite in 2022.

The Vice President also dismissed claims of a “destabilization plot” against the administration, calling them fabrications by people within the government.

Last Sunday night, Barzaga led an anti-Marcos rally outside Forbes Park, drawing attention from both supporters and critics of the administration.

Duterte declined to comment on former House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s appearance before the Independent Commission on Infrastructure (ICI) but questioned the commission’s credibility.
“Nagpalit lang sya ng Speaker and Senate President at binuo ang ICI pero hanggang ngayon wala pa ring nananagot,” she remarked.

The Vice President also urged the government to investigate other irregularities, including the DepEd laptop procurement, school building construction, and farm-to-market road projects.
