Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday conveyed her greetings to the Muslim community in celebration of Eid al-Fitr, marking the close of the holy month of Ramadan.
In her message, Duterte reached out to Muslims across the Philippines and abroad, including those in the Middle East.
“I join the entire Muslim Ummah in celebrating the blessed occasion of Eid al-Fitr,” she said.
The Vice President underscored the meaning of Ramadan as a time of prayer, sacrifice, and spiritual renewal.
She commended the devotion and discipline shown by those who observed the fast, noting that it reflects both the strength of faith and the values of compassion and charity.
Duterte also recognized the role of Muslim Filipinos in nation-building.
“Your resilience and hard work continue to be a source of pride for our country. May the spirit of Eid bring you comfort and remind you that your contributions to your families and our nation are deeply valued,” she said.
She closed her message with a call for peace and solidarity, expressing hope that the lessons of Ramadan would inspire a more inclusive and secure world.
