VP SARA LEADS 2028 PRESIDENTIAL SURVEY DESPITE CONTROVERSIES

Vice President Sara Duterte remains the frontrunner in the 2028 presidential race despite the possibility of an impeachment trial over issues surrounding her use of confidential funds.

Based on a survey conducted by WR Numero from March 10 to 17, Duterte secured a 35.9% voting preference among 1,455 respondents, with a margin of error of ±3%.

A tight contest for second place was observed between Senator Raffy Tulfo and former vice president and now Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo. Tulfo garnered 18.5%, while Robredo followed closely with 15.7%.

Tulfo has earlier said he has no plans to seek a higher position and prefers to run for re-election in the Senate in 2028. Robredo, meanwhile, has indicated that she is not yet considering plans for the next presidential race.

Other potential contenders trailed behind, including Senator Bong Go (3.6%), Senator Bam Aquino (3.2%), Senator Kiko Pangilinan (1.4%), Education Secretary Sonny Angara (0.7%), Senate Deputy Majority Leader Risa Hontiveros (0.7%), Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte (0.4%), Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla (0.3%), and Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon (0.1%).

Meanwhile, 19.4% of respondents said they remain undecided or have yet to choose a preferred candidate for the 2028 presidential elections.
