VP SARA OPEN TO OMBUDSMAN REMULLA REVIEWING HER SALN

Vice President Sara Duterte said she is open to the possibility of having her Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) reviewed by newly appointed Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla.

She made the remark on Saturday, October 11, when asked about Remulla’s statement that he is open to reviewing her SALN.

“Huwag na niya silipin. Diyos ko. Huwag na niya silipin. Ilagay na niya sa harap niya at pag-aralan na niya ng maayos kung ano man yung gusto niyang gawin,” Duterte said in a chance interview during her visit to earthquake victims in Mati City, Davao Oriental.

She then added, “Ipagpasa-Diyos na lang natin siya at ang kanyang mga gagawin bilang Ombudsman.”

When asked for her thoughts on Remulla’s appointment as the country’s graft buster, the Vice President replied candidly, “Kung ako presidente, hindi siya ang ia-appoint ko na Ombudsman.”

Remulla, who recently assumed office, earlier announced that he is open to making the SALNs of former President Rodrigo Duterte, Vice President Sara Duterte, and President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. accessible to the public, as part of his plan to lift restrictions implemented by former Ombudsman Samuel Martires.

“Why not? Let’s go all the way… Lahat ‘yan. Pati kami, kasama kami diyan,” Remulla earlier said.
