VP SARA SLAMS ICC FOR ALLEGED NEGLECT OF FPRRD’S HEALTH

Vice President Sara Duterte criticized the International Criminal Court (ICC) after claiming they were not informed about the current condition of her father, former President Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently detained at the ICC detention facility in The Hague, Netherlands.

In a statement released by the Office of the Vice President, it was reported that the former president was allegedly found “unconscious” following an incident at his cell in Scheveningen Prison.

“This is nothing less than an abuse of power against a vulnerable individual,” VP Sara said, describing how the ICC has handled the situation involving her 80-year-old father.

According to information obtained by the Vice President, Duterte underwent a series of laboratory tests after the incident.

“If the ICC is to remain true to its mandate as a court of justice, it cannot turn a blind eye to the health and wellness condition of FPRRD,” she added.

The ICC has not issued a direct comment on Duterte’s case, but stressed that it does not neglect the health of individuals under its custody.

“As indicated before, the Court takes all necessary measures for the preservation of the physical and psychological wellbeing of all detainees,” the ICC said.

Duterte currently faces three counts of murder over the bloody war on drugs carried out during his administration.
