VP SARA VOWS TO FIGHT “GREED” IN GOVERNMENT

Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday reaffirmed her commitment to fight what she described as “greed” among certain high-ranking government officials, as she released the Office of the Vice President’s 2025 year-end accomplishments report.

“Mga kababayan, patuloy tayong lalaban sa kasakiman ng mga iilang mataas na opisyal ng ating pamahalaan,” Duterte said in a video message, adding that the OVP remains focused on strong planning, effective project implementation, anti-corruption efforts, and “tapang at malasakit” for peace and development.

Based on the report, the OVP’s free bus ride program served 875,176 commuters nationwide from January to October. Medical assistance was extended to 4,643 individuals, while 1,377 beneficiaries received burial aid.

The OVP’s Disaster Operations Center assisted 73,054 families affected by calamities, including the distribution of 2,514 bags of 25-kilo rice to victims of the Cebu 6.9-magnitude earthquake and the Kanlaon Volcano eruption.

Duterte also highlighted the “Mag Negosyo Ta ‘Day” initiative, which supported 15 groups and 2,245 aspiring entrepreneurs. This year, the OVP distributed 460,272 PagbaBAGo bags and achieved its target of planting one million trees.
