ZALDY CO REPORTEDLY SEEKS DIALOGUE AMID GRAFT CASE

Former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co has reportedly sent “feelers” expressing his intention for a dialogue, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Wednesday.

In an interview at Camp Crame, Remulla revealed that Co reached out to Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla through contacts in the clergy.

“He sent feelers through some of the priests he knew. They asked to connect with us to have a dialogue… Not through me, through the Ombudsman,” Remulla said.

“Of course, that’s not verified. They’ve just reached out. A friend of a friend reached out,” he added.

Remulla clarified that while they are open to dialogue, it would not extend to matters involving bribery.

“‘Yung gusto makipag-dialogue, kakausapin namin ‘yan. Pero, kung bribe ay huwag na,” he said.

Co, along with several former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials in Mimaropa, is facing graft charges linked to an anomalous ₱289-million flood control project in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.
