VIBE, the country’s favorite OPM music countdown, delivered an explosive welcome to Women’s Month with a special episode dedicated to celebrating empowered and inspiring women through music.
The Women of VIBE took center stage, performing iconic OPM hits such as “Amakabogera,” “Kakaibabe,” “Paruparo,” and “Dyosa.” The Cignal HD Spikers also made a special appearance, adding energy to the night’s celebration.
Opening the main show was Asianovela Diva Faith Cuneta, who revisited her smash hit “Pag-ibig Ko’y Pasinin,” the OST of Stairway to Heaven.
She reflected on her performance, saying:
“I watched the Koreanovela na Stairway To Heaven. So minsan kailangan may panghuhugutan ng feeling yung story na kinakanta mo, very important yun kaya dapat, may experience ka or you listen to friends na experience na pa-iba-iba.”
For the Top Uprising Star of the Week, P-POP group BILIB performed their debut track “Mahika,” earning 21.28% of the votes. The group emphasized their versatility, noting they refuse to be boxed into a single genre.
Meanwhile, Bayang Barrios and Naliyagan delivered heartfelt renditions of “Malayo Man, Malapit Din” and “Bagong Umaga.”
Bayang shared advice for aspiring women artists:
“Maging inspirasyon lang tayo sa kapwa. Sa kapwa babae, sa kapwa na tao, maging inspirasyon tayo. Maging inspirasyon tayo kung ikaw ay gustong maging singer, siguro mas maganda kung gumawa ng sariling tunog, at sariling compositions.”
The Main Vibe segment featured JAO making his comeback with “Wag Ka Munang Umuwi,” ranking third, while Eliza Maturan reclaimed the top spot, expressing gratitude to her supporters:
“Siguro ang number one talaga yung lahat mga naniniwala sa akin. And sa lahat ng suporters at sa lahat ng bumuto sa akin sa Main Vibe, maraming maraming salamat po.”
Closing the night was beloved ’90s actress Tina Paner, who performed “Tamis Ng Unang Halik” and “Ikembot Mo, Iyugyog Mo.”
She reflected on her enduring love for OPM:
“Please VIBE, wag na wag niyong kakalimutan suportahan ang OPM music at maraming maraming salamat din sa VIBE dahil sa inyo po, eto pa tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang OPM.”
Starting March 7, Main Vibe moves to Saturdays from 6:15 to 8:00 PM. Voting for Main Vibe and Uprising runs until March 5 at 11:59 AM.
