After nearly four years, the partnership between ABS-CBN Corporation and TV5 Network, Inc. is officially coming to an end.
In a statement released and submitted to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) today, December 17 (Wednesday), ABS-CBN confirmed that it has mutually agreed with the management of the Kapatid Network to conclude their partnership effective January 2, 2026.

“The move comes after TV5’s decision to terminate the Content Agreement effective 2 January 2026,” ABS-CBN stated.
The Kapamilya Network also confirmed that it has already settled all its financial obligations with TV5 Network Inc. and MediaQuest Holdings Inc., saying, “ABS-CBN has settled its obligations with TV5/MediaQuest in accordance with each party’s agreements.”
ABS-CBN likewise expressed gratitude to TV5 for serving as a broadcast home to several Kapamilya programs over the years, including “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “ASAP,” “Linlang,” “The Iron Heart,” “Everybody Sing,” “It’s Showtime,” and “Pilipinas Got Talent.”
“We thank Mr. Manny V. Pangilinan and TV5 for providing a home for some ABS-CBN programs since 2021,” the network added.
At the same time, ABS-CBN confirmed that it has signed a licensing deal with Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS), owned by former Senate President and business tycoon Manny Villar, which operates free TV channel ALLTV. Through this agreement, Kapamilya Channel—ABS-CBN’s current cable channel—will be aired on free TV.
This development effectively marks ABS-CBN’s return to Channel 2, five years after the network lost its broadcast franchise.
It can be recalled that the ABS-CBN–TV5 partnership began on January 24, 2021, when TV5 aired “ASAP Natin ’To!” and “FPJ Da King” on its Sunday lineup, followed by the ABS-CBN Primetime Bida block roughly two months later.
As of writing, TV5 Network Inc. has yet to issue an official statement regarding the matter.
