ABS-CBN, TV5 IN TALKS FOR POSSIBLE PARTNERSHIP COMEBACK — REPORTS

A possible comeback collaboration between two major Philippine media networks may be on the horizon, as executives from TV5 Network Inc. and ABS-CBN Corporation are reportedly in renewed discussions.

Sources say talks are being led by business tycoon Manny V. Pangilinan, chairman of MediaQuest Holdings Inc., and media executive Eugenio Gabby Lopez III, chairman emeritus of ABS-CBN.

The discussions are said to focus on exploring a new model of content partnership that would bring fresh programming options to television audiences.

Among the early developments reportedly being considered is the planned airing of ABS-CBN’s English-language news channel ANC on pay TV provider Cignal TV.

Insiders also revealed that part of the negotiations may include the possible return of ABS-CBN’s long-running Sunday noontime variety show ASAP to the Kapatid network. Additionally, discussions reportedly cover the potential broadcast of the upcoming drama series “Sigabo,” starring Coco Martin and Julia Montes, as well as opportunities for co-production ventures between the two companies.

The renewed talks come after the expiration of the previous content supply agreement between ABS-CBN and TV5 on January 1, 2026. The deal ended following delays in payments related to ABS-CBN’s financial obligations to TV5, which were eventually settled.

As of now, both networks have yet to issue an official confirmation regarding the reported negotiations, leaving industry observers watching closely for further developments.
