Actor Archie Alemania has been found guilty of Acts of Lasciviousness under Article 336 of the Revised Penal Code, in connection with the complaint filed by Kapuso singer-actress Rita Daniela.
According to reports released on Friday, October 24, the Office of the City Prosecutor of Bacoor, Cavite imposed an indeterminate penalty on Alemania — ranging from one (1) month and one (1) day to one (1) year and one (1) day of arresto mayor.
The court also ordered Alemania to pay ₱20,000 in civil indemnity and ₱20,000 in moral damages to Rita Daniela.
It can be recalled that Rita filed the complaint in October 2024, citing trauma from the incident as her main reason for pursuing the case despite the potential impact on her reputation.
“That being a public figure, a contractual artist with reputation to protect, it is very difficult for me to file the instant case but the trauma I was and am experiencing brought about by the incident gave me courage to face the consequences and file the instant case against the respondent,” Rita said in her statement to the media.
The incident allegedly occurred in September 2024, when Archie offered to drive Rita home. During the ride, the actor reportedly touched and caressed her neck and shoulders without her consent.
Alemania, however, denied all allegations and filed a counter-affidavit before the Bacoor City Prosecutor’s Office, asserting that the accusations were false.
Despite his denial, the court ruled in favor of Daniela, emphasizing that the evidence and testimony presented were sufficient to establish the actor’s guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
