The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) reported that 161,429 individuals registered as new voters in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), surpassing its target of 150,000 registrants.
The registration period ran from February 9 to March 31.
Lanao del Sur recorded the highest number of applicants at 50,918, followed by Maguindanao del Norte (31,666), Maguindanao del Sur (26,175), Basilan (21,734), the Special Geographic Area (16,505), and Tawi-Tawi (14,431).
The milestone comes ahead of BARMM’s first-ever parliamentary elections, scheduled for September 14.
Nationwide, COMELEC said more than 3.6 million individuals registered between October 20, 2025, and March 28, 2026.
This surge in voter registration highlights growing public participation as the region prepares for its historic parliamentary polls.
