The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has set a 36-hour target to complete the canvassing of votes in the March 14 special elections for Antipolo City’s 2nd District.
According to COMELEC en banc Resolution 11197, “Subject to reasonable exceptions, the DBOC (District Board of Canvassers) must complete its canvass within 36 hours from the time it initially convened. Upon completion of the canvass, the DBOC shall announce the result of the special elections.”
The District Board of Canvassers will convene at 6 p.m. on March 14 at the Ynares Event Center to receive election returns and begin canvassing. Proceedings will continue without interruption until completion, with adjournments allowed only to await pending returns.
COMELEC emphasized that the canvassing process will be open to the public. The 2nd District has 252,793 registered voters across eight barangays, with 348 clustered precincts in 36 voting centers.
