Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon continued his inspection of key bypass road projects in Tarlac, underscoring the government’s efforts to cut travel time for farmers and motorists transporting goods to markets.
During his visit, Dizon checked the Concepcion–Bamban Bypass Road and the Estrada Bypass Road in Capas—both designed to serve as alternate routes to decongest major highways in the province.

He emphasized the urgency of accelerating infrastructure development, noting that these projects will also function as vital farm-to-market roads.
“These infrastructure projects are important to fund and accelerate,” he said, adding that improved road access will directly benefit farmers by making it easier to transport harvests to trading hubs and commercial centers.
Earlier, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. directed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to prioritize the construction of bypass roads nationwide. The initiative seeks to provide faster, more efficient, and cost-effective travel, particularly as fuel prices continue to rise.
Once completed, the bypass roads are expected to significantly enhance the transport of agricultural products such as rice, corn, and sugarcane. Officials said the improved routes will help reduce hauling costs during harvest periods while boosting local economic activity.
The projects are also seen to ease congestion across Tarlac’s main road networks, ensuring smoother movement of goods from farms to markets.
