FERNANDO RESPONDS TO ROAD RAGE CLAIMS, URGES PUBLIC TO TRUST OFFICIAL STATEMENTS

Bulacan Governor Daniel Fernando on Monday addressed the controversy over an alleged road rage incident involving his convoy along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx).

“Ang issue na ito na sinasabing road rage ay malinaw nagpahayag ang Malacañang tungkol dito at ang LTO. Irespeto na lang po natin ‘yun. Okay na po ‘yan,” Fernando said in a speech at the Bulacan Provincial Capitol.

“Sa puntong ito, higit sa anumang negatibong balitang nagkalat sa social media, ang mas mahalaga sa akin ay ang iyong pagtitiwala at pagkilala sa aking pagkatao,” he added.

Initial reports claimed that a group of vehicles supposedly registered in Bulacan harassed a convoy involving a son of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

Malacañang, however, denied that such an incident took place. In a recent briefing, Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said the media should direct inquiries to the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

A document, allegedly a show cause order inviting the vehicles and drivers involved to explain, circulated last week.

However, LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao clarified that the document did not originate from the agency.
