Four major coalitions have already held their miting de avance in preparation for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.
Led by Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Robin Padilla, PDP-Laban—under the leadership of detained former President Rodrigo Duterte—was the first to hold its miting de avance on May 8 (Thursday) at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila, where nine (9) out of the ten (10) Team Duter10 candidates were present.
Together with their allied progressive party-list groups, the 11-member “Oposisyon ng Bayan” slate of the Makabayan bloc held their own miting de avance in Quezon City on May 9, 2025.
On the same day, the administration-led coalition Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas held their rally in Mandaluyong City, the stronghold of one of their key candidates, former DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos.
President Bongbong Marcos led the endorsement of the coalition’s 10 senatorial candidates, though Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar was again notably absent from the event.
Yesterday, May 11, former Senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan held their miting de avance in Naga City, stronghold of their ally former Vice President Leni Robredo. Robredo, currently running for mayor of the city, was joined by the ML Partylist and the full Team Naga slate.
