TV host and former Manila City Councilor Kim Atienza and his family are in mourning following the passing of his 19-year-old daughter, Emman Atienza.
In an emotional post on Instagram on Friday, October 24, Kuya Kim announced the heartbreaking news.
“It’s with deep sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our daughter and sister, Emman,” he wrote.
He also reflected on the light and joy that Emman brought into their lives.
“She brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives and into the lives of everyone who knew her,” he shared.
Kuya Kim added that his daughter’s openness and sincerity deeply touched many people, especially those struggling with mental health.
“Emman had a way of making people feel seen and heard, and she wasn’t afraid to share her own journey with mental health. Her authenticity helped so many feel less alone,” he said.
Emman previously gained attention on social media after being labeled a “nepo baby” by some netizens due to her lifestyle — an accusation she firmly denied.
Despite being the granddaughter of former Manila City Mayor Lito Atienza, Emman clarified that her immediate family does not receive any financial support from their political relatives.
“Yes, my one grandfather and my aunts and uncles on my dad’s side are in politics. But I wanna make it so clear that my immediate family, my sister, my brother, me, my mom, my dad do not get financial support of any means from that side of the family,” she once said.
The Atienza family has yet to announce details regarding Emman’s wake and funeral arrangements.
