Private subdivisions in Las Piñas City will extend gate operations until midnight starting ten days before Christmas, exclusively for motorists with a Las Piñas Friendship Route sticker, to help ease traffic congestion during the holiday season.
Following a request from the Las Piñas City Government, homeowners’ associations agreed to extend operating hours until 12:00 midnight, effective until January 2. BF Resort Village in Talon Dos and Moonwalk Village in Talon Singko will begin opening selected gates until midnight starting December 15.
Philamlife Village in Pamplona Dos, meanwhile, has extended operations until 10:00 p.m. to accommodate Simbang Gabi churchgoers.
Other subdivisions covered by the Friendship Route are also expected to operate from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight to help decongest Alabang-Zapote Road. The Friendship Route allows Las Piñas residents to pass through designated private villages as alternative routes.
For motorists without a Friendship Route sticker, Zapote River Drive and Las Piñas River Drive will remain open 24/7. Zapote River Drive, from Villar City Evia District in Daang Hari to Villar City Global South District in C5 Extension, including the Cavite Bridge in Talon Dos, will stay accessible round the clock.
Las Piñas River Drive, from Naga Road to C5 Extension, will also be open 24/7, though some access points will follow Friendship Route schedules.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Las Piñas City Government reminded motorists that both Zapote River Drive and Las Piñas River Drive are strictly for private four-wheel vehicles only.
