The Manila local government proudly announced it has paid off ₱317,164,772.17 of debts left by the administration of former Mayor Honey Lacuna.
According to the Manila City Public Information Office, the breakdown of payments includes:
- ₱217 million to MERALCO for unpaid bills from September 2024 to May 2025.
- ₱9 million to telecommunications companies, which are now “fully paid.”
- ₱73 million paid to Maynilad, though a balance remains.
- ₱16 million to Manila Water, also “fully paid.”
In a post on his personal social media account, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso thanked the public for their cooperation.
“Thank you, taxpayers! Salamat po sa pagbabalik ng inyong tiwala sa Pamahalaang Lungsod ng Maynila. Asahan niyo po na kami ay patuloy na magbubuti, mag-iimpok at magiging episyente sa aming pamumuno para sa inyo,” said Domagoso.
