MMDA TEMPORARILY SUSPENDS NUMBER CODING FOR HOLY WEEK

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the expanded number coding scheme will be temporarily suspended from April 1 to 3 in observance of Holy Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.

According to the MMDA, the coding scheme will only take effect starting 12:00 noon on Holy Wednesday, while it will be fully suspended on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.

“Planuhin ang biyahe at mag-ingat sa pagmamaneho,” the MMDA said in its advisory.

“Hangad ng MMDA na maging mapayapa at makabuluhan ang inyong paggunita ng Lenten season,” it added.

In a related development, the agency also lifted the truck ban and the coding scheme for oil tankers and other vehicles transporting prime commodities and basic necessities across the country.

The MMDA reminded motorists to plan their trips accordingly and observe safe driving practices during the Lenten season.
