MRT-3 COMPLETES HOLY WEEK MAINTENANCE, OPERATIONS TO RESUME APRIL 6

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) underwent its annual preventive maintenance during the Holy Week break, with work extending to escalators and elevators across stations, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) confirmed on Saturday, April 4.

According to the DOTr, the initiative was carried out to ensure “safe, orderly, and efficient use of facilities for passengers” while enhancing the overall commuting experience.

Maintenance teams conducted thorough inspections and servicing of critical systems, including train tracks, power supply, signaling and communications, and rolling stock. Station buildings and passenger amenities were also checked and upgraded where necessary.

In addition, the MRT-3 serviced public address and telephone systems to guarantee clear announcements and directions for commuters. Closed-circuit television (CCTV) equipment was likewise inspected to bolster security across stations.

The DOTr assured that normal MRT-3 operations will resume on Monday, April 6, following the completion of the annual Holy Week maintenance program.
