Amid ongoing changes within TV5, TV5 and MediaQuest Holdings Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan has expressed his full support for the Kapatid Network’s OPM countdown program “Vibe,” underscoring its importance in promoting Filipino music and artists.
In a brief interview with entertainment news website Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), Pangilinan shared how proud he is of the program and encouraged the team to continue improving its quality.
“I’m happy with Vibe. I hope they’ll keep it up. Continue to make changes to improve the quality of the show,” Pangilinan said.
The Kapatid Network executive emphasized that Vibe has been effectively fulfilling its mission as a platform not only for established Filipino artists, but also for emerging singers who aspire to carry the banner of Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
“We’ve long been a supporter of OPM many years ago. I think, when we started something, Ryan Cayabyab [show], and we continue to support,” Pangilinan said.
He added that Filipino talent deserves greater global recognition.
“Hopefully, we get the kind of recognition and appreciation as the Korean [group] BTS and the likes. We have excellent singers to market and sell to the world.”
Beyond Vibe, Pangilinan assured loyal Kapatid viewers that TV5 has a robust lineup of programs prepared for the year, signaling the network’s continued investment in diverse and high-quality content.
“Marami, marami. We’ve been meeting many times these past two weeks or so,” he said.
Among the upcoming and highly anticipated programs are “The Kingdom: Magkabilang Mundo,” “A Secret in Prague,” “The Good Doctor: The Philippine Adaptation,” “My Bespren Emman,” “Ang Mutya ng Section E: The Dark Side,” “Project Loki,” and “Magic Boys,” among others.
With strong backing from its leadership, TV5 continues to position itself as a platform that champions Filipino creativity—whether in music, drama, or innovative storytelling.
