Rising star Ashtine Olviga, popularly hailed as the “Nation’s Mutya” and one half of the fast-rising loveteam AshDres, claimed the People’s Choice Award at the Billboard Philippines Women in Music 2026 held on March 24.
In her emotional acceptance speech, Olviga expressed gratitude to God and dedicated the award to dreamers, especially those who feel shy or hesitant to step forward.
“Gusto ko pong magpasalamat sa Diyos kasi wala ako ngayon dito kundi dahil sa kanya,” she said.
“Gusto ko lang i-dedicate din ‘tong award na to para sa mga taong nangangarap na, alam nyo’ yun, mga mahihiyain kasi dun ako nag-start.”
She encouraged aspiring talents to trust in themselves and in God.
“Masasabi ko lang is kaya nyo basta magtiwala lang kayo sa sarili nyo at magtiwala sa Panginoon, magagawa nyo.”
Olviga’s journey to stardom began in 2016 when she joined the reality search Born to be a Star under VIVA Entertainment and TV5, eventually joining a P-Pop group before landing her breakthrough role as Jasper Jean “Jayjay” Mariano in the digital series Ang Mutya ng Section E in 2025 alongside Andres Muhlach, forming the popular AshDres loveteam.
Her award marks over a decade of perseverance and dedication, proving that consistent hard work and faith can lead to long-awaited success.
