OPM DISCO FEVER AND RISING STARS TAKE OVER VIBE STAGE

Last Saturday’s VIBE delivered a nostalgic yet electrifying experience as it embraced retro disco energy while celebrating the future of Original Pilipino Music (OPM).

Opening the show with a throwback to the 1970s, the VIBE JOCKS and GEN V artists lit up the stage with iconic OPM disco hits including “Awitin Mo, Isasayaw Mo,” “Hahabol-habol,” “Annie Batungbakal,” “Dance With Me,” and “I-Boogie Mo Ako Baby.” The vibrant production proved that OPM disco remains alive, energetic, and irresistibly fun.

The show also introduced a fresh segment, VIBE SPOT, featuring viral sensations Jeff Cifra and Harry Ocampo. Harry expressed his gratitude for performing on a bigger stage and revealed his original composition “Layag.”

Meanwhile, Jeff thanked VIBE for the opportunity to return to the spotlight.
For the main show, OPM artist Top Suzara performed his hit “Sabihin Mo Na.”

Reflecting on the song’s success, he shared that he never anticipated its impact, as it was simply written without expectations and ended up becoming a fan favorite.

Rising P-pop group NEO took center stage as the week’s Top Uprising Star, performing their debut track “Tugatog,” which garnered 54.38% of the votes.

The group shared their perspective on “Hiraya,” saying,

“Ang pananaw naming sa Hiraya means, parang siyang hagdan, so nung sinusulat pa lang yung kanta is yung marelease ng kanta naming, sariling kanta, magkaroon ng music video, dance studio ganun po. Pero yung overall ang gusto namin is yung Hiraya na tinatingala namin is maiangat ang OPM sa buong mundo.”

They also extended their gratitude to their fans, NEON.

For Spotify Tatak Pinoy LIVE, headliner fitterkarma delivered a haunting performance of “Pag-ibig ay Kanibalismo II,” bringing pre-Halloween chills to the audience.

Kenaniah fulfilled his promise to perform on the MAIN VIBE stage with “Huli Na Ba Ang Lahat,” ranking at Top 9, despite dealing with mild illness.

A standout collaboration between Gigi De Lana and Sponge Cola brought “Naghihilom” to the Top 4 spot.

Gigi shared her thoughts on healing, saying,

“Alam niyo choice naman natin yan eh. Choice nating kung maghihirap tayo o matatakot tayo o mahihirapan tayo. It’s free eh. Free ang choice natin so chinoose natin ang mahirapan, so mahihirapan tayong lahat maghilom.”

Yael Yuzon added,

“Marami rin kaseng tao na ang healing ang hilingin nila. So Magandang hilingin ang healing.”

He also revealed that their collaboration took five months to complete.

OPM rock band Shamrock returned as the second OG performer, delivering a refreshed version of their hit “Alipin.”

The band shared,

“Wala lang, napagisipan lang naman namin na gawan namin kasi instead of acoustic yung Alipin diba? So ginawa namin make it a full band arrangement para mas masaya kami.”

Hezekiah Mesina energized the crowd with “Usad,” ranking at Top 2, and left a memorable message:

“Guys, EDSA nga di umuusad, tapos kayo, stuck pa rin sa maling tao? Mali yun. Mali yun.”

Closing the night, OG group NEXXUS performed their timeless hit “I’ll Never Go.”

The band emphasized its lasting appeal, stating,
