RAINIER JULY EXPECTED AS UP TO THREE STORMS MAY ENTER PAR — PAGASA

Filipinos should brace for a wetter month of July, as the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) confirms that up to three tropical cyclones may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this month.

While these upcoming storms are not expected to be as intense as those experienced in July of last year, PAGASA still urged the public not to be complacent and to remain prepared for potential weather disruptions.

Meanwhile, PAGASA continues to monitor Typhoon Bising, currently located outside PAR but already affecting areas such as Batanes and the Babuyan Islands.

According to the agency’s latest weather bulletin, Bising packs maximum sustained winds of 130 kph with gusts reaching up to 160 kph, and is moving northeast at 15 kph.

The typhoon is also enhancing the southwest monsoon (habagat), bringing more rainfall to parts of Luzon in the coming days.

Authorities are reminding residents in affected areas to stay alert and heed advisories for their safety.
