REVILLA BREAKS SILENCE ON 2025 ELECTION LOSS, VOWS LEGAL ACTION OVER “FAKE NEWS”

MANILA – After weeks of silence, outgoing Senator Bong Revilla has finally spoken out regarding the results of the 2025 midterm elections, where he failed to secure a spot in the Senate’s “Magic 12.”
In a phone-patch interview with select members of the media, Revilla addressed his current situation following his unsuccessful re-election bid.
According to the official tally released by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Revilla placed 14th overall, garnering 12,027,845 votes.
Revilla confirmed plans to file legal charges against those who allegedly spread “fake news” targeting him during the campaign period.
He specifically pointed to the revival of the plunder case filed against him in 2014 in connection with the pork barrel scam involving questionable transactions with NGOs linked to Janet Lim-Napoles.
The case had also implicated fellow lawmakers Jinggoy Estrada and former Senate President and now Presidential Legal Counsel Juan Ponce Enrile.
“Sa aking palagay yes, orchestrated ito. Kung anong kulay, ayaw ko nang alamin siguro that’s part of politics kasama yan sa labanan ng eleksyon pero ang hindi lang maganda dito yung fake news,” Revilla said.
He clarified that his decision to pursue legal action is entirely his own and is not connected with the administration-backed coalition, Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas, under which he ran in the 2025 elections.
When asked about the possibility of making another Senate run in 2028, Revilla said it remains uncertain and that he will consult with his family before making any decisions.
